It's not TMBG, it's Polaris

When the early 90s revival arrives in a few years, as it inevitably will, this is one of the few things that will make it survivable. Juliana Hatfield guest stars in Episode 6! She was really making the rounds back then. IMDb also says that Michael Maronna, a.k.a. Big Pete, was once suspended from high school for setting fire to a guitar. That's some inspiring musical juvenile delinquency, that is.

that show has an amazing raw quality. and the soundtrack blows my mind. i wish they'd release season 3 on dvd, though. Have you ever listened to any Miracle Legion, the band that Polaris kind of was in real life, sort of? They have that same early-nineties midsummer-twilight-fireflies-puberty vibe. I have a love/hate relationship with the episode where Ellen and Pete go on a date in Endless Mike's care. It gives me fleeting heteronightmares.

Did I show you this show when you were at my place?

Other appearances by Patti Hearst, Michael Stipe, regular roles by Iggy Pop. Luscious Jackson played themselves once, too.

Ah, how I miss the Petes. And Artie. I miss you, too!
